Save points and save your game and test if more magic does more effects like damage or healing. Put enough points in magic skills to cast your highest level spells. Put enough points in to open chests and disarm traps. I would not put points in armor/shield skill. Seduce (enemies attack your target), Entangle (chance to immobilize target on melee hit), Cripple (chance for double damage and an additional debuff on hit), Divine Mend (chance to heal on melee hit), Dragonfire (deal fire damage on melee hit), Phantasm (chance to turn into shadow form different from Shadowlord), Terrorize (chance to fear on melee hit), Twisted Master (chance on melee hit to force enemy to fight for you), and Whirlwind (chance to increase attack and move speed on hit). Save a great amount of points and save the game before you spend them. In the Steam (MMXII) version, both your base classes determine what class you can get (ie you must pick Fighter and Rogue to gain access to Hunter, then Rangerlord). In the original/CE version, you can follow any path allowed by your base class (ie, if you pick Rogue, you can pick Hunter, then Rangerlord). They added Druid, Bladewitch, Necromancer, Illusionist and War Angel. If a player gets enough experience points then they will get a skill point separate from leveling up. This chart tells you all the classes in Steam (MMXII) version.
